The 1960's - The Club Expands
In 1960, another 14 acres were added to the "Berzaine" property for $1,500 with some members lending their own funds to the club to make the payments for the land. Members also agreed to either donate one work day each year or pay $5, however this requirement was changed the following year in favour of only an increase in membership fees to $10.
Until now the "Berzaine" range had been operating without trap huts and electricity. Huts were built and electricity was finally installed in 1963.
In 1966, the club constructed a skeet tower, a second trap hut and change room pavilion for the swimming pool. Members also finished building the .22 caliber shooting range and connecting the electricity and pump for the swimming pool.
The general social and arbitration regulations were not confirmed until 1964. Rules and regulations for sport fishing contests were added in 1968. Membership continued to grow in number, with 89 members in 1967 and 125 members in 1968.
In 1969, the club decided to make significant changes. Ten additional acres were purchased to bring the total to 60.2 acres. The club changed its name from "Latvian Hunting and Fishing Club" to the "Latvian Anglers and Hunters Club". A decision was also made to expand the main "Berzaine" building. To raise the funds, members were asked to pay an annual $15 membership fee before April 1st, or $20 after April 1st.
